Top 13 American Idol’s begin their journey

Published by wv918 at 12:10 pm under Music, Television Edit This

Last night’s American Idol show was the the beginning of that long road for the top 13 American Idol contestants. They had their choice of any Michael Jackson song to sing and try to impress the American Idol judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi.

Of the top 13 American Idol contestants only 4 of them really stood out in my opinion, they were Lil Rounds, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert.

First American Idol hopeful up was Lil Rounds and she sang her version of the Michael Jackson hit The way You Make Me Feel. She sounded really good and all four judges were impressed. Although Simon Cowell did think the song choice was a bit lazy but she is surely safe this week.

The next of my top 4 American Idol hopefuls that impressed me was Danny Gokey with his rendition of P.Y.T. I’ll admit I have never heard of the song before so I can’t say how Michael Jackson sings it but Danny Gokey did a nice job with the song. All judges were pleased and the one everybody tries to impress Mr. Cowell when he compared Danny to Michael McDonald, ”Your a white guy with soul” Simon told him.

Third of my top 4 is 16 year old American Idol hopeful was Allison Iraheta. She sang Give In To Me and gave it a very credible rock sound I thought. All the judges liked her even Simon who said it was a good performance. Of the teenagers she is the best of the bunch.

The best of the night I thought was Adam Lambert, He sang Black or White and did a tremendous job that had all four judges heaping praise on him. Paula Abdul all but gave the American Idol trophy to him. Simon said he was in a class by himself when compared to the other 12 American Idol hopefuls.

Who do I think will be going home tonight? They announced that they were voting off two tonight so I think Alexia Grace is gone. Her Dirty Diana didn’t get much love from the judges and Simon even give her the “It was probably not as good as you thought it was”quote.

The other who I think is leaving will be Megan Joy Corkey. I actually thought her version of Rockin Robin sounded all right but the judges didn’t like it much. Stupid song choice was all Simon had to say.
