Man Joyce Dewitt sure has changed since her Three’s Company days and not in a good way. She was arrested recently for suspicion of DUI and her mugshot was taken. Shes 60 years old now but her mugshot makes her look a heck of a lot older.

Family Ties was a sitcom that ran on NBC for 7 seasons, from 1982-1989. The premise of the show was 2 hippie liberal parents from the 60’s trying to raise their children in the 80’s. One child in particular was a handful, as he was a young republican and always butting head with the parents. Michael J. Fox played the young republican, Alex P. Keaton in the role that launched his very successful TV and movie career. Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter Birney played the parents Steve and Elyse Keaton. Justine Bateman was the middle daughter Mallory and Tina Yothers the younger daughter Jennifer. Brian Bonsall came along for the last 2 seasons as a younger brother Andy.



Michael J Fox has had a very successful TV and movie career after Family Ties. He went on to star in Spin City from 1996-2001. He was also in the very successful Back to the Future movies as well as Teen Wolf and Casualties of War among many others. He discovered in 1998 that he has Parkinson’s disease and has been a big activist in the fight to find a cure for the disease. He also has a special coming up this Thursday night on ABC titled Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.

Michael Gross has appeared in 4 Tremor movies as well as the TV series of the same name. Most recently he had a role on the soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Meredith Baxter(she dropped the Birney after divorcing actor David Birney) was in a movie in 2008 titled  Onion Movie and had a movie just recently in 2009 on the Hallmark channel titled Bound by a Secret.

Justine Bateman most recently was in 10 episodes of the ABC series Men in Trees which has since been cancelled. She also was in 4 episodes of Desperate Housewives in 2008.

Tina Yothers never did much as far as acting goes after Family Ties. She most recently was on VH-1 in 2006 on the Celebrity Fit Club 4.

Brian Bonsall had roles in a few movies after Family Ties. He also had a role on Star Trek: The Next Generation in the role of Worf’s son. Since 1995 though he has had several run in’s with the police including 2 DUI’s. In 2007 he was arrested for assaulting his girl friend. He was suppose to appear in court in July of 2008 but never showed. He had an arrest warrant issued for him and is supposedly still on the run.

Zac Efron’s new comedy 17 Again was tops at the box office over the weekend. It took in over $ 23.7 million during its first days of release. Coming in second was Russell Crowe’s new movie thriller State of Play with just over $14 million.

Miley Cyrus’s new movie Hannah Montana The Movie came in third with $13.4 million although it was the second week of its release so you can’t expect the numbers to match the other 2 movies.

Monster’s vs Aliens came in fourth with $13.2 million and Fast and Furious was fifth with $11.7 million dollars.

So since Zac Efron is tops at the box office this week I thought I would do a now and then post. Since hes only 21 there’s not much difference in him from younger photos but I’ll post a few anyway.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High was a comedy made in 1982 and centered around the lives of four students, Stacy Hamilton, Mark Ratner, Linda Barrett and Mike Damone. Stacy was played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mark was Brian Backer, Linda was Phoebe Cates and Mike was Robert Romanus.Judge Reinhold played Stacy’s older brother Brad. You also had a young Sean Penn playing Jeff Spicoli before he was the big star that he is today.

So fast forward 27 years and checkout what all the stars are doing today and what they look like.

Of course everybody knows who Sean Penn is and what a big star he has become. He’s won 2 Oscars since Jeff Spicoli the most recent one being this year for his portrayal of Harvey Milk in the movie Milk.I also just read he has agreed to be in the new 3 Stooges movie that is to begin shooting soon. He’s going to play Larry Fine, so that should be interesting to see.

Jennifer Jason Leigh’s last movie was in 2008, the title of it was Synecdoche, New York and starred Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Judge Reinhold was in two movies in 2008 , Swing Vote and also So Others May Live and also was on Arrested Development back in 2006 playing himself.

Robert Romanus was in the movie Route 30 last year and has also been on several TV shows. He was on a show Christian Slater had recently on NBC titled My Own Worst Enemy.

Brian Backer, I really couldn’t find out much on him other than he was in The Loser in 2000, so if anybody has any info on him let me know.

Phoebe Cates married the actor Kevin Kline and they have two children. She last appeared in the 2001 movie Anniversary Party. She opened up a boutique in 2005 on Madison Avenue in New York City called Blue Tree.

Its hard to believe that Johnny Depp has been around making movies for 25 years. I cant recall which of his movies I saw first but I think my favorite is What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, I really liked that a lot.

I just started getting the old TV series he starred in 21 Jump Street here on the local cable and have got into watching it. I didn’t know it but the girl Holly Robinson is now married to the ex-football player Rodney Peete who is on The Best Damn Sports Show on Fox Sports channels.

Johnny Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky which is only about four hours from my hometown.He got his start in the movies by playing Glen Lantz in the very first Nightmare on Elm Street. Then his next movie was Private Resort which I had never heard of until now.

I think he first got some notice in Platoon, he had a somewhat small role as Private Lerner. His first big movie break came when he made Edward Scissorhands in 1990 for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

Then four years he got another Golden Globe nomination for his role in the movie Ed Wood, then after that I think his career took off.

He’s just completed work on the movie Dillinger and its suppose to be out in July, then he has The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus set to release some time in the fall of this year,
